Bait is literally...a bait
What is this show even about? Did I
watch? Yes! Do I regret it? No. Was it good? Absolutely not. Am I confused?
Fuck yes. And why is it always the same formula: struggling immigrant trying to
fit in, mama, papa, old school, cool sister or cousin who doesn't give a f***,
some relative who does off-the-table s***. I mean, come on! Why waste
opportunities and money on this? There are SO SO SO SO many funny immigrant
stories to be told, and they keep doing the same thing over and over.
And Riz Ahmed as James Bond? Lol. He’s
handsome, but the dude has that "sad face"—he isn’t scaring anyone,
lol. I mean, the idea is crazy funny: a struggling actor becoming James Bond by
"accident." They should have led with that! Instead, it spreads all
over the place and is just a mess. It would have been funnier if his family was
actually in Pakistan and, when they find out about it, they tell the whole
town, end up praising their son on Pakistani TV, and then visit him in the UK
only to realize playing James Bond and being a struggling actor are very
different. They could have taken it from there. I'd watch that.
