Are screenwriters the new directors?

So… screenwriters have been protesting about AI and stuff, and I get it, buuuuut hear me out: With AI moving so fast into developing a whole ass movie in really great quality… what is the main element that makes everything turn out as real and as great as possible? A prompt! And who is better at writing… screenwriters. So… what I think is gonna happen, is that screenwriters will probably become the new directors. You know how you watch a movie and you’re like—oh, this is great! What you don’t know is that it’s not even the original screenplay. It’s a crazy edited version of the original, then you have the director's and producer's input, etc., etc. So imagine YOU! The guy who wrote the story, now have the possibility thanks to AI to turn your script into a real movie. How fuckin' great would that be?! And we're probably gonna get to the point where everyone can make movies, but as a screenwriter, of course, you're gonna have the upper hand. I actually am so excited for this. At least for a pilot idea etc. We making movies, bish.
