Live from LONDON is Saturday Night!
SNL UK premiered this Saturday and of
course I had to watch it. It was actually good. Well, I expected better
because, you know, British humor and all that—but I guess they have to fit into
the SNL 'American humor' mold.
I liked Tina’s monologue and the guest
appearances; I LOVED every bit of Nicola Coughlan. Of the cast, I think Jack
Shep is already a star. His Diana bit and the baby skit had me rolling. I also
like Ania Magliano—she’s perfect for Weekend Update. As for the rest of the
cast, I can’t really decide yet, but I’m definitely watching.
Once again, I know this is an American adaptation, but it doesn’t have to be that American. One already exists, so what’s the point? When Americans adapt from the British, they might have a British guy on the cast at some point, but nothing else is British—and it works. Right? You get it!
Ps. Imagine if they get better ratings than US. I have a feeling :P
