The Great?

Certain shows are like a beautiful painting. Not necessary meaningful, well done, revolutionary etc, they are just satisfying.  You can stare at it for hours. Your emotional and mental state all come together through this painting and you find it so pleasing and relaxing. And you know well, what you're staring at is a white canvas with three different shadows of gray, but as I said, somewhere deep in you, it finds a spot and "click"! 

So, that's "The Great" in few words. A beautiful painting. Beautiful people, in beautiful clothing and sets. Witty and funny dialogue occurs as often as misrepresented historical facts do, but is all enjoyable. The actors are great and I'm very impressed by Nicholas Hoult, meanwhile Elle Fanning is stunning! Catherine The Great is having quite a moment. This is the second show this year based loosely on her life. Amazingly, both shows have not a single Russian credit (source IMDB) which is not that hard to guess. It falls on historical fiction category, so I'm gonna say...that justifies it? 

Who's this show for?

Probably Sofia Coppola's fans. If you loved Marie Antoinette, you'll love this as well. There's no Converses here but they do play "Orgasm Addict" by Buzzcocks.
