The Bear seems like work

 

I loved The Bear since the first episode it aired. Clearly, like many others I showed interest because of Jeremy Allen White. Loved his work in Shameless, so I decided to check this out as well. Did not disappoint. Season two it got even better with episodes like Fishes, reaching a top tv moment status and making me excited for season three. Well..Here’s the thing (ughh!) The show had success because it was a mixture of a cooking show, DIY show and of course drama and I guess dark comedy? Very simple. You have a main character trying to build a new business. You go through Kitchen Nightmares to Restaurant impossible to MasterChef …you know, all of them shows. You add some drama and great acting and bam! In season three though, for some reason all this is thrown away and even the main character Carmen was placed on the side and suddenly everyone is a main character. We learn about everybody’s life, which is fine but didn’t have to be a full episode. I mean, if they’re interesting enough ok, but to stretch it to a full episode, what could have been a 5 minute take…why? Carmen made this show, and yet here we are on season three getting nothing new on him, beside his constant flashbacks and yelling at meals lol and the most fucking annoying crosscuts in the history of TV!!! I get it, the point is to make the viewer experience the anxiety he’s feeling but is OVERDONE, and annoying AF! It’s unwatchable. Then you have Mario and Luigi over there in every episode having the most idiotic conversation EVAH! That has absolutely no point and it does not add or take anything to the story. They wanna get a Michelin with them around? A Michelin tire maybe!  And there’s a lot of things that don’t make sense, which I’m tool lazy to list here like the amount of expensive food been thrown away, no communication between FOH and BOH…yeah just forget it. I did love E6 Napkins. Even though, way too late on the show, it was done great. Still think it didn’t deserve a whole episode but I do LOVE Tina and Liza Colón-Zayas is superb. So, this season really seemed like showing up to work with crazy people and you just wanna clock out and keep asking if you can go early, but no one is paying attention because everyone is just too busy doing nothing and you’re just stuck till 10pm regretting your life choices but can’t quit because the tips are good. Fuck!
